Just a quick note to say I’m the newest contributor of Scoutie Girl, a blog with a penchant for the passionately handmade!
I will be writing a weekly pop culture inspired post filled with tons handmade goodies! I was telling Tara, Scoutie Girl’s editor, that the biggest reason I desperately wanted to contribute was because I needed a ‘getaway’ from posting about business related topics. I must admit I don’t like Scoutie Girl blog. I find it way too busy and not very informative.
For blogs about handmade items, I prefer blogs like yours because they’re not focussed on the advertising dollar or big, fluffy pictures and focus instead on disseminating pertinent information that actually helps people.

While I understand where you are coming from, a few things you may not realize about blogs like ScoutieGirl.
#1 – ScoutieGirl helps drive BUYER traffic to it so anyone featured or advertising on it gets eyes on them from people who are actually going to BUY something.
#2 – Because of the advertising ScoutieGirl gets, they are able to do their blog for free. For someone like me who runs this newsletter/blog without advertisers, I have to charge people for my services/products since I do not make money off the other stuff. So it’s really a give and take you know!?
